Yemeni Women Empowerment Foundation: The bloody Houthi attack on King Khalid Airport in Riyadh is a full-fledged terrorist crime and a dangerous escalation that requires deterring the militia and holding its leaders accountable


The Yemen Women Empowerment Foundation (YWEF) condemns in the strongest terms the bloody terrorist attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh, which resulted in the death and injury of civilians, and damage airport facilities and a Saudi Arabian Airlines civil aircraft, in a new crime that reveals the terrorist nature of this militia and its utter disregard for civilian lives, civil aviation safety, and regional and international security.


The Foundation confirms that the two attacks that targeted the airport on Thursday, October 8, 2026, one of which affected the facilities of the airport, while the other targeted a Saudi Airlines aircraft, which, according to the official statement of the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority, resulted in the martyrdom of three Saudi citizens and the injury of a number of Citizens and residents of different nationalities, whose injuries ranged from minor to severe, as well as material damage. Saudi Airlines also announced the martyrdom of one of its employees and the damage of one of its aircraft on the ground of the airport without the presence of passengers on board.

The Foundation notes that this crime comes after a previous Houthi attack targeted King Khalid Airport on October 6 and 7, killing a Sudanese resident and wounding eight others, including five Saudi citizens, two Egyptian residents and a Pakistani resident, in a repeated escalation that confirms the Houthi militia's insistence on Targeting civilian facilities and endangering the lives of travelers, workers and residents of surrounding areas.

The Yemeni Women Empowerment Foundation considers these attacks to be serious terrorist crimes and a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the rules of international humanitarian law and the principles of protecting civilians and civilian objects, and confirms that the targeting of civilian airports, aircraft and vital installations The missiles are not a legitimate military act, but a criminal attack that threatens the lives of innocent people and the safety of air navigation, and exposes the Houthi militia's disregard for the most basic humanitarian and legal values.

The Foundation believes that the repetition of these bloody attacks exposes the falsity of the political and religious slogans behind which the Houthi militia covers up, and confirms that its project based on violence and terrorism does not target Yemenis alone, but represents a direct threat to the security of neighboring countries, the stability of the region and the safety of civilians of different nationalities.

The Foundation stresses that the attack on King Khalid International Airport is an episode in a series of Houthi attacks on Saudi airports, cities and civil facilities, which requires a firm international position that goes beyond statements of condemnation and condemnation to practical measures that stop these crimes and end the situation 2004/223 Impunity

The Foundation affirms that the continued international leniency with the Houthi militia, and the failure to take deterrent measures against its leaders and those responsible for issuing orders to target civilians, encourages it to commit more crimes and expand the circle of its attacks, and puts the lives of millions in Yemen and the countries of the region at risk. Escalating.

The Yemeni Women Empowerment Foundation calls on the international community, the United Nations and the UN Security Council to take an urgent and decisive position to condemn these crimes, prosecute those responsible for planning and implementing them, activate international accountability mechanisms, and impose the necessary measures to stop Houthi attacks on civilians airports and vital facilities, and preventing the use of Yemeni territory as a springboard for cross-border terrorist attacks.

The Foundation also affirms its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leadership, government and people, and supports its legitimate right to protect its sovereignty, security and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory, and to take the legitimate and necessary measures to stop these attacks and deter their perpetrators in accordance with international law.

The Foundation reiterates that the protection of civilians in Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the region cannot be achieved in light of the Houthi militia's continued possession of the tools of killing and terrorism and its use against the civilian population and facilities, and that putting an end to these crimes has become an urgent humanitarian and security necessity. tolerate more complacency.

The Yemeni Women Empowerment Foundation extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the families of the victims, asking God for mercy for the dead and a speedy recovery for the injured, stressing that the blood of innocent people are not numbers in passing statements, and that these crimes must not pass without accountability and punishment.
